My world consists of my boys and their women in their lives. My grandchildren, who bring such joy to my life. My pets, who I adore very much and love watching them interact with each other. My hubby, Chuck, and his passion, Stampede Band. Plus, any ramblings I want to do. So, I hope you enjoy your visit into "My World" through my eyes.

New Year's Eve

Today is Dec.31st, boy this year seemed to go by so fast. Today would have been my grandfather's birthday, if he was still here with us. Jan. 1st would have been my great-aunt Mary's birthday. We always celebrated both birthdays together.

Tomorrow will be 2007, WOW!

Does anyone have plans for the eve of the New Year? I hope everyone is safe from harm's way.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

yesterday

I had such a nice time visiting Danielle's mom, aunt and cousins. Danielle has a really nice family. Brooklyn was all very pretty with the decorations on people's houses. It really surprised the heck out me, how they decorated their houses with such a small amount of area space. I think they had more lights up there, than what people do down here. Very pretty and festive.

After we visited with Danielle's aunt, we drove to Freehold, NJ. We dropped Kayla and Jack off at their aunt and uncle's house so they could go 4-wheeling, I think that's what they were doing today. They were so excited. Halina was very sad and upset that her sissy and brother didn't come home with us.

All in all it was a very lovely day.

NY pizza is very good. Plus, Danielle's aunt made really good lasagna.

Tomorrow

I'm looking forward to going with Danielle, my friend, to visit her family in New York. She is picking me up around 9ish and off we go. Last year was my very first trip to the city and I loved it. Charlie, her hubby took me on a tour of the city. I got to meet the Deli man on the Letterman Show. He is so cute.

I had a dirty water dog. Does anyone know what that is?

I had an original Nathan's hotdog, hmmmm!

We went to the city last year on Jan. 2nd. All the grafitti from New Year's Eve was all over the street in Times Square. The sites were amazing. The BIG signs on the buildings and all the goings on there. I just loved it. Maybe some day I can go see a show there or see the city during Christmas. I'm sure it is a pretty site with all the decorations, lights, and people.

He gives me a BIG headache

My husband gives me such a BIG headache. I'm sure there are some women out there that can relate to me. I hate starting my day the way I do everyday, SCREAMING to wake his butt up.

Why do I have to be the easy one to wake and him the hard one?

Christmas Day

It was a very relaxing day for us, since we celebrated with the kids the day before. I did the wash, so I wouldn't have to do it while I'm off from work this week.

We stopped at my brother's house to give Tricia her presents, so she had them for Christmas. Then we went up to visit with Chuck's mom. She was so funny. She was so glad to see her Chuckie, that she gave him a BIG hug. She had us walk around to see all her friends. She introduced us to everyone all over again. The only one's that didn't know us were the different nurses and aids that were working on Christmas Day, from different floors. There was this one lady that just loved Chuck and even made a joke with him about seeing what comes up between them. OMG! We laughed so hard. She was so cute.

Mom loved all her gifts from Jeri, Jan and us. She got 3 nightgowns, 3 pairs of pants and a pair of slippers. She was dressed in a Christmas sweater and black pants. She looked very nice. The only thing was her glasses were being fixed, so she didn't have them on. She also was missing her bottom teeth. They couldn't find them. They said she misplaced them, which they could be right, who knows. But all in all we had a very nice visit. Her memory was a little mixed up, but that is to be expexted with dementia. I'm glad she isn't like some dementia people that get very nasty. She is just so cute. She still is a very pretty lady.

After we came home, I finished making my dinner and Chuck watched to EAGLES game. I was making mashed potatoes when my mixer started burning up and smoking. Now, I have to get a new mixer. I like the stand mixers rather than the portables. I don't have the strength in my hands anymore to hold a portable one. it is just easier for me to use a stand one.

Chuck was very happy that the EAGLES beat DALLAS. So, I guess they are in the play offs. I know our friends Linda and George aren't happy, they don't like the EAGLES. They say it is the fans. I always ask Linda who you rooting for and she says whoever the EAGLES are playing, then I root for the opposite team, LOL. She is so funny.

Tom, Steph and the kids came down around 8:30 PM. Steph said the kids would have be disappointed if the didn't see us on Christmas, even though the adults were very tired. The kids sure weren't, lots of pep and energy. To be that young again or to have their energy.

It was just a beautiful HOLIDAY after all.

Christmas Eve

Yesterday was our Christmas with our children. Billy, Tommy and his family, Maree', and John came for a very pleasant day and evening. We exchange our gifts and ate a good dinner.

I gathered they all loved their gifts that was given. I know I sure loved mine. My daughter-in-law made me this beautiful sweatshirrt with my grandkids hands and feet painted on it. It is so wonderful. Now, when I get more grandkids I can add their prints too. There is room for plenty. I have to get Jonathan's prints on there and then it is complete with all my little ones. Steph also made me sweatshits with transfers on them. She is a very talented person to have around. Cause I can't even sew a button on straight.

My wonderful husband Chuck got me a tennis bracelet, a gold watch, an Eagles longsleeve shirt, an orange hoodie for crossing, and a foot spa. He shopped all by himself and did a GREAT JOB! He didn't think he could shop on his own, I think he surprised himself. I absolutely love everything he gave me.

John and Jamie gave me this beautiful statue of Jesus, Mary, and Joseph. I'll be able to leave out all year round, to remind us of this special season. Thank you both.

Tom, Steph, and the kids got so much stuff that I had to follow them home with the presents in my car. They have a big van, but it is filled with Tom's work equipment, and 3 car seats.

John was able to fit all their presents in the back seat of his truck. When Jamie and Jonathan come home from visiting her parents we will go up there so see their presents and their surprised looks.

Billy got a lot of things for his apartment, like dishes, utensils, paper towel holder, and 4 folding chairs for his kitchen table. He couldn't fit them in his car so he is coming for them today. He didn't have to much to start out with for his apartment, so I thought he needed those things more.

Chuck got from me a DVD recorder for the tv, some Eagles things, a cargo mat for his car (he always worries about ruining his carpet from his band equipment), Willie Nelson cd collection and 2 Western shirts.

The kids showered us with many gifts and lots of love. All in all, it was a very beautiful day. It is so nice to have a GREAT family. I love them all.

What a nice day I had

Today was a really nice day. The weather was just beautiful today. High in the upper 50's and sunny, you couldn't have asked for a better day. Yes, it sure doesn't feel like Christmas with the warm temps. We will pay for it come January, February and March. I love snow, as long as I'm home, LOL.

Chuck got his hair cut and yes, I had to go with him. Then we went to Richard's Drive In to get lunch and came home to eat it. Then Chuck went shopping for my Christmas present, while I cleaned and finished wrapping some presents for him.

We were invited to our friend's house, Linda and George for a drink and some eats. We enjoyed their new wood stove and their beautiful hearth. It really makes for a cozy atmosphere. They have a beautiful home. Very country, my kind of decor.

The four of us went to the club to see our other friends. We wished them all a very Merry Christmas. It is so nice to have such nice friends.

I love my kids

I love being their for my kids, like my grandparents were there for us as my brother and I were growing up. We didn't have a lot like the kids today have. My mom worked hard at a minimum wage job back in the '60's, so as people know wages back then weren't great. Without my grandparents we wouldn't have had the things we did. They made sure we had food on the table and clothes on our backs.

It is hard to imagine life so hard as it was back then. But we were kids and we didn't know how my mom struggled to put a roof over our heads. Now that I am grown up and have kids of my own we as parents like to make things a little better for them than it was for us.

When Chuck and I first married, my mom was on strike from her job, that she couldn't even help pay for my wedding. If it wasn't for the nice man I was marrying, his parents and my grandparents I would have had to get married by a JP in my jeans. I am very thankful for all they have done for me and have made me the woman I am today. I guess you can tell I like the woman I have become.

My grandmother taught me how to be the woman I am today. Thanks Nana!

Christmas

Christmas is almost here, it is hard to believe another year has come and gone.

My shopping is done, just have to finish wrapping the BIG gifts for my kids and grandkids. I went overboard this year, but I had a little extra money to spend on everyone. Next year it will be back to the norm.

Walmart stopped layaways, which sucks for me. I have used layaways for many years so I can get the gifts I want, but now I will have to really plan ahead, for when money gets tight.

It is so nice driving around and seeing the houses that are all decorated so nicely with colorful lights and blowup decorations. I can remember taking our kids with us when they were little to see all the colorful lights. We all really enjoyed that.

We all have to remember that the Season is all about, Our Christ the King was born a Saviour. Without that what is Christmas!

Frustrated.....

Today my day started off as always with me screaming at my hubby, Chuck to get up for work. Boy, how I wish he could get up to an alarm clock. I hate starting my day like this.

Is there anyone else out there that has the same problem? I need anyone's suggestions on how to solve this dilemma in my mornings.

The Great Wilson Warriors

Saturday was a fantastic day for our home school Wilson Area School District football team. They beat Jeannette High Shool football team 29-28. They deserve this title. They have worked very hard over the years to have accomplished this goal in Wilson history.

I have been a Wilsonian for 31 years and I'm so proud our school and the kids that worked to do get this award. I'm sadden to hear that Coach Comp is leaving after this school year. He will be missed.

CONGRATS !!!!!
