My kind deed for the day.....

I always get to my corner early so I can get a parking space. There was this young woman with a tiny little baby in a carrier waiting for the bus. It was very cold and breezy out.

She came over to my car and told me her baby was very cold, that she was waiting for the bus and it didn't come. She had been waiting for 20 minutes. It was 2:08Pm at this time. She said she had an appointment down at St. Bernards Church at 2:00 PM. I said get in and get out of the cold.

She showed me this paper from the church and their address on it, so I decided to take her down in my car. She was so thankful that a stranger did this for her, because she wasn't from this country. I asked her where she was from and she said, Peru. I said I have met a lot of people from South America from going to the PrOjeCt of Easton to get my GED. She told me she registered there to learn English. I was glad I could help someone that wasn't from our country.

People are quick to judge the immigrants from another country, only if they knew like I knew how some of them have to live to survive. They come to this country to make a better life for them and it's hard when you have people putting some of them down for invading our country. I applaud her for signing up to learn English. I have tried to learn her language, but it is hard for me, I know it must be just as hard for her to learn ours.

Her name was Jessica and she said that very well. I told her my name was Susan and she said my name very well too. She said it was very nice to know someone as nice as you. I said thank you, no problem.

Like the top of my blog says, I LOVE PEOPLE no matter what color, race, or nationality they are. God created us all to be EQUAL!

Dilbert's Blog

My daughter-in-law introduced me to this blog. The man who writes this blog has some very interesting things to say that can catch the reader's eye.

Any comments from anyone?

"Ten foods for a good night's sleep"

I think I'm going to have to try some of these foods and see if they work for me. Since going through menopause I can't seem to fall to sleep or stay alseep all night long.

My mind just doesn't want to shut down for the night. Even though I'm tired, as soon as I lie down my mind starts going in overtime. It is awful not being to sleep.

Sassy, she was my mom's kitty

I'll have to get pictures from Chuck and put Sassy on here. She was my mom's kitty. My mom went to heaven on July 10th 2006, so we decided to add Sassy to our family.

Boy, is she a sassy kitty. She lives up to her name to a T. She has to rule the roost around here, but Misty gives it right back to her. They fight all the time. Thank goodnes they all fixed and declawed, so they can't hurt each other. They just make lots of ugly noises when they are fighting.

Tigger has to be with someone

Tigger, is just so lovable. She loves to lay with Snowball every chance she gets.

Plus, she loves laying on her daddy, Chuck's lap all the time. Because he has a heater blowing heat on him when he sits at his computer desk. She just loves heat. Never saw a kitty that loves the heat like her.

Tigger, our baby kitty

Here is Tigger she adopted me. I had a friend who wanted a kitten, so we went to look at 4 of them and here comes this little kitty running straight for me past her brothers and sister. She jumped into my arms and needless to say she was mine. I brought her and all her siblings to Chuck's work in my pet carrier and she ran in between all of them to get to me again. I said to Chuck, we have to take her. He said NO, we have enough animals. By the time I got home Chuck left a message on the answering machine, all right just her no other. YIPPEE!

She was mine. She slept with me on my pillow because she was so small I had to wake in the middle of the night and take her to the litter box. I also had to make sure she had food during the night too.

When I had my first knee replacement she was by myside non-stop. She had to lay with me on my recliner on top of the blanket. She was just so adorable. As you can see by where she fits into some small places. She loves heat, can you tell!

Misty is our pretty kitty

I found Misty about 5 years ago outside my house crying one night, when Chuck was at band practice. It was a stormy night in October, the thunder was rolling and the lightning was cracking. So, I couldn't see her outside in that kind of weather. I'm such a softy when it comes to animals. Well, I brought her in the house and she got along with Dutchess, Cody, Snowball, and Gizmo, that we decided to keep her after we tried to find her owner, to no avail.

Chuck fell in love with her right away.

She is a very sweet loving kitty.

She is the only kitty we have that has to go outside and eat the grass. Our other kitties won't ever go near the door.

Gizmo & his brother Snowball

This is their favorite position together. They are always sleeping together, whether it is on our bed, chair, or in a basket. You can always find them together.

Snowball has a very sissy meow, you would have thought he was a girl kitty, but he is not.

Gizmo, our whacky kitty

Gizmo is a funny kitty. He looks for trouble at every corner. When he finds something he climbs in.

He has the most weirdest meow we ever heard from a cat before. He is a mixed Himalayan and so is his brother, but they look nothing alike.

Dutch & Cody, their favorite position

They usually have to fight over who gets on the sofa first, but this time they shared it together, on either ends.

Don't they look so peaceful!

Dutchess & Cody, our dogs

Dutchess is a Golden Retriever that is very rowdy and gets into so much trouble.

Don't leave a loaf of bread on the table or anywhere else that she can reach, because there won't be any left.

Cody is a Yellow Lab and he is so sweet. Follows me everywhere and gets very sad eyes when he sees me leaving the house. He even has to go to bed with me when I go to bed, whether it is to take a nap or sleep for the night.

Chuck, turned 55 on the 28th of January

Here is Chuck, my hubby holding his precious, Leanna.

Let's all wish Chuck a Happy Birthday. Yesterday was his birthday.

Saturday night I surprised him with a cake.

More picks to come from his birthday.

My Son, Tom's Wife's Blog

Here is my son, Tom's wife Stephanie, her Blog of her family and of course my grandkids. Please check it out and see what trouble my little grandkids can get into. I feel so sorry for the mom, cuz she has to live with them all day long with not much break. She is an amazing mother. I wish I had her patience, when my boys were young and into devilish things.

She and Tom are expecting their 4th child. I hope it is a healthy baby girl, cuz then I can give them their baby girl clothes back that are stored in my basement waiting to be worn again. They need another baby girl for a sister to Leanna, Justin, and Timothy and their older step-sister Maree'.

I changed my Template, Sorry Everyone....

I got tired of the other template. I really like this one. I was going to have it from the beginning, but I didn't want people thinking I copied it from someone else. I like older looking things and this fits my style. I think this template is very stylish and that's ME, LOL!

We lost a GREAT lady today

We got a call today that a good woman past away from cancer. We are saddened, because she was truly a blessing to have around. She loved the band that Chuck played in and all the members and their spouses and girlfriends. She just radiated God's love through her demeanor. She reminded me of my grandmother in so many ways.

My prayers go out to her husband Louie, her son, and grandkids.

Godspeed Diana! We will miss you and love you forever.

The man in my life

Last night Chuck called me and said something amazing to me. He said he just realized tonight that he really loves me. Well, I guess it was nice that he realized that, since we are married for 33 years. That would be awful if he just realized he didn't love me after all these years.

Sometimes he takes me for granted. As an old married couple it is nice to hear something nice like that. To make me feel loved and important. I don't have to realize that I love him, cuz I know I do, even when we fight and say awful things to each other.

Blame the stars for crashing your car.....

A recent study suggests that you should be wary of getting into a vehicle driven by a Libra, Aquarian or Aries.

Where do they come up with these studies? DO YOU BELIEVE IN THEM?

I'm a cancerian, so that means that I'm a good driver. Who knows!

What a workout it was....

Tonight was my second day of working out. It felt good to get my heart pumping and my blood circulating. I really enjoyed the feeling that I worked my arms and legs to feel tired. Cuz then I know the workoout is working.

It has been hard getting on a schedule to do it 3 times a week, hopefully Linda and I can get on track. We both have the desire to workout 3 times a week, and hopefully work up to 4-5 times a week. Between her and my schedule it was hard getting together. Something always seems to come in the way. Do you ever think that way too, when you make plans to do something that is important to you, something comes in the way.

I am determined to do this time around no matter what.

feeling more like winter

I am really enjoying the cold weather. I know there are some people that don't like the cold, but I hate been hot. Plus, we really need this cold weather to kill some of the germs that have been going around and keeping many people sick.

I'm looking forward to our first snowfall and watching the inches grow. I want to try my new Hyundai Santa FE out in the snow and see how it works. I want to feel the snow beneath my wheels. What a great feeling knowing that I have a car that can handle rough weather. Not ice, no car can handle ice, so I don't look forward to ice. When the ice falls thats when I walk if I have to go anywhere.

Boy is it cold out today

Winter is upon us this Wednesday in January. Now will it stay or leave us again. I really enjoy the four seasons, but this year we haven't had much of a winter.

It was snowing like the dickens when I was crossing the elementary kids to school this morning. The kids were all yelling it's snowing, it's snowing, yippee!

I remember as a child how we got a lot of snow and it hung around forever. Well, it seemed like forever to me back then. The kids today don't really get to enjoy big amounts of snow too often, anymore. What a shame on that. To build snow forts, go sledding in the cornfield, or just walking in the snow at night. They were tremendous memories I had of when I was a kid. Anyone else have good memories of the snow, when they were a child?

Today, where can a child go sledding and have fun? With all the building of new homes and things that are going on around us anymore, there is no more country left.

I grew up behind Fat Jack's in Palmer Township and there were still a lot of cornfields around, but not now there isn't.

Happy Birthday Elvis!

Today Elvis would have been 72 if he was here with us. Hard to believe it will be 30 years, since he was with us.

August 16, 1977 was a sad day for me. I cried so much when he died.

My son Tom and his wife Steph bought me Elvis things at Christmas. I just loved that man.

Back to working out.....

I rejoined Curves last month with my friend Linda, so we could get grandfathered in for the old rate, because it was going up after the first of the year.

What a workout it was! I didn't realize how out of shape I had gotten this past year. We really worked up a sweat. It will take about a month to get back to where I was, not getting out of breath. Then it will be about another 6 months to see a difference in weight and metabolism. Can't wait. I have struggled with my weight for most of my life and I don't want to give in to it.

So keep me in your payers that I don't hurt myself and to continue on to losing another 20 pounds.

I'm in the chior

Well, today was my first day in the choir at Olivet Presbyterian Church in Easton. I really enjoy singing, even if my hubby says I can't sing. Everyone said I did very well.

It was a bit different sitting in the choir seats and looking at the congregation. I was a little nervous, but all the other choir people welcomed me with open arms. When I first joined the church 4 yrs ago, one of the members from the chior heard me singing and asked me back them to join, but I couldn't at that time. I was a deacon for 3 yrs and now I'm just a regular member. But they told me once a deacon always a deacon. What that means if they are ever short-handed, then they call the past deacons to help. Doesn't bother me, because I really enjoy going to church and dedicating my life to God. I have always gone to church ever since my boys were 4 and 5. I strayed for a few years, because the church I got married in got too big for me and I felt like a lost person. Now, I feel like I belong. I love small congregations, because you can really get to know one another. We have some really good voices in the choir. I hope I can live up to what they want.

We have a really nice Chior Director, his name is Matt. He really livens the chior up. He is 25 and engaged ladies, sorry. He replaced our old Chior Director and Organist. He does both. He is a school teacher besides doing this. A very talented young man. Makes you feel very welcomed in the chior. I'm looking forward to many happy times singing my heart out.

back to crossing

You think that parents would know how to drop their kids off to school by now. I guess with having a week off they must have forgotten. I think the principal forgot how to come out to check the traffic jamming up too. He looked and went back inside. It was backed up past the crosswalks for my kids to cross. What a mess it was this morning.

This afternoon it was much better. The principal came out and had to tell several cars to move. They all should know that there is NO parking in front of the school no matter what. You always will get a few that will still try to get away with it.

New Year's Day

I thought I put my dinner on high in the slow cooker. But after 3 and a half hours later I went to check on it, well to my surprise it was on warm. I was very upset with myself for doing something so stupid.

I called my friend Linda and she told me what to do. All in all it still came out very good. I made a pork roast with sauerkraut, mashed potatoes, corn and applesauce. It was my very first time making sauerkraut with beer. Boy, was that ever good.

It was a very relaxing day for me, before I had to go back to work. I did the wash and watch some TV. Fun, Fun, Fun!

New Year's Eve

Well, it was a nice time down at the W.E.A.A. There were a lot of people there enjoying the night. The jukebox was open to play any song you wanted. The floor was crowded with the older people dancing. To my surprise Chuck even did the twist, but he had lots of beer in him by that time, to dance the twist. He even crawled off the dance floor, on his hands and knees to the bar, LOL! What a sight that was to behold! Friends of ours, Donna & Ken, Linda & Ron, and Linda & Fred all laughed at that sight.

They had good eats for all of us. Sausage sandwiches, luncheon meats, cheese, rolls, veggie tray, macaroni salad, potato salad, cookie tray and chips & pretzels. We all enjoyed the good food.

But as usual, Chuck and I started the new year with a bang, a fight. Nothing new for us. Why should it be any different than other years. But it is always my fault. And why is that? It's never the man's fault, especially when I only had 3 fuzzy navels all night long and they weren't strong at all. I made sure I didn't drink a lot because I was drinking. Chuck had way too much for both of us, if you know what I mean.

I don't like to drink too much and especially on New Year's Eve, when there are extra police out that night for all the drunks.
