Merry Christmas Everyone!

Another year it coming to a close. Today is Christmas Day. We all need to thank, Jesus, for all our blessings he has given us through these tough financial times. Thank him for giving us another day to live and be joyful.

I thank you Jesus for seeing my dog Patches through a very tedious operation last night. I thank you Jesus for giving me good friends, a wonderful family, and seeing me through difficult times. May you always be by my side as I journey through life and tell people of the Good News.
Amen.

Jacob and his Smoothie Face

Jacob looks so cute with his smoothie face.

Purple looks good on you. It is Nanny-Sue's favorite color.

I had to steal these photos from Steph's Blog.

Cooking Making at Steph's House

What a nice caption for all the cookies that were being made.

Jacob was enjoying painting his cookies. Jacob's cookies are all his because of his allergies. I bet he was so happy he didn't have to share his.

Leanna was enjoying cutting the cookies out. Leanna is a Big help to mommy.

Justin and Timmy were enjoying rolling out the cookie dough. Justin you better look out for that rolling pin. Timmy looks like he means business.

Justin was enjoying making the icing for the cookies. What pretty colors they made.

Here is what the finished product looked like. Yum Yum!

Camera :(

I just want you all to know that we have to send our camera out for repair. When I took it to the camera shop where we bought it they told me that our camera had a recall for the problems we are having with it. The problems are a gray line across the LCD screen and it goes blurry when turning it on. Sometimes I have to turn the camera off and on several times, until I get a clear image on the LCD screen. So, that means no pictures for awhile, until it is returned to us.

My cute dogs, they truly love each other

I was wrapping presents yesterday on top of the ex-large doggie crate I have to house my Patches and Dutchess. First, Cody went in to lay down, because Cody always has to be where I am. He is my shadow to speak. Well, Dutchess loves her older brother, so she wanted to lay with him and she joined him in the doggie crate. Usually, they lay beside each other on the couch. I thought it was so cute that she wanted to be with him in the doggie crate, that I had to take some cute shots of them.

Dutchess is watching me take their picture, while Cody is saying, OK get it over with, so I can sleep.
Aren't they just so cute together! I just couldn't resist a few pics.

Cody is watching my every move, because if I leave the room he will leave the crate and follow me every where. So, he is getting ready if he has to bolt.

The Siblings Enjoying The First Snow

Jonathan looks so tall in this picture. He got the perfect stance for the next Phillies pitcher.

Josslyn looks like a little snow bunny in her lambs snowsuit. She is just amazed at the white stuff coming down. She will make a cute little snow angel, don't you think!

Let it Snow!

I just couldn't resist taking a few snapshots of the snow coming down.

It is feeling more like Christmas is on it's way with it snowing.

Snow is so beautiful, when you are safe at home and just watching it come down.
I love snow, but only when I have no where to go.

Cyndee & her grandson, Kobe

Cyndee came up to Kobe's house with toys for Kobe and I snapped these pictures with my cell phone.

Here Kobe is playing with all the goodies his Nanny brought him to play with. How young kids enjoy toys with music to them. She brought books, cars with a musical merry-go-round track, and a basketball hoop. He didn't know what toy to play with first.

Leanna and her Brownie Troop in the Allentown's Halloween Parade

Click on the picture to make it bigger so you can see Leanna's face. She is like saying with those eyes to her mommy, Come On Now! Her Brownie Troop was in Allentown's Halloween Parade on Sunday.

Here they're going by the judges and TV cameras being BIG stars. They are waving to the cameras. They look so cute!

She finally got the chance to carry the sign at the end of the parade.

Kobe, the little boy I watch & his Mommy, Tara

Tara, James and Kobe stopped by to see me & his Nanny, but his Nanny had already left to go home. It had started to rain and we didn't think they would be around to see us, but what a surprise I had. I really wish his Nanny had stayed.

Happy Halloween!

My grandchildren are all enjoying Halloween.

Here is the front view of, Jonathan, dressed as a pirate for Halloween. Must be a year for pirates!
And here is his back view of the costume.

Happy Halloween!

Doesn't my grandchildren look so nice for their Trick-or-Treat night? Stephanie, their mother, made the costumes, except the Winnie the Pooh, and I'm not sure about the Pirate one either, but I'm sure she will tell me, when she sees my posting. I just love Justin in his Skeleton costume, especially his mask, so original. She has a lot of talent and imagination when it comes to making costumes and making birthday cakes.

On my sidebar is her Blog please look at it and see the Pirate Ship she made Timothy a few weeks ago for his 4th birthday. It was so cute and it was very delish with it being homemade, because of Jacob's allergies. I think it was her best tasting cake, ever!

I believe Leanna is Laura Ingalls from Little House on the Prairie. She was voted most funniest costume at her Brownie Troops Halloween Party, but I think it is adorable. She looks like a blonde Laura Ingalls.

CORRECTION: MY DAUGHTER-IN-LAW, STEPH, DID MAKE THE WINNIE THE POOH COSTUME. I WANT TO MAKE SURE SHE GETS THE CREDIT FOR IT, BECAUSE NOWADAYS, SHE HAS NO TIME FOR NOTHING, BETWEEN HOME-SCHOOLING AND RAISING FOUR BEAUTIFUL KIDS, WHILE MY SON WORKS TO PROVIDE FOR HIS FAMILY, SHE IS EXTREMELY BUSY.

I met a really nice compassionate lady named, Trish

click on the title and you can take a tour of "The Fitness Club"

I just want to tell people about the "Fitness Club" I belong to in Forks Township. It is only $59.00 to join and $10.00 a month for access to all the gym equipment. They have 4 different equipment for cardio, all kinds of free weights to use, exercise balls for strengthening, and what I like the most is the circuit. What the circuit is, are exercise machines that form a circle and exercises every part of your body in 30 minutes; like Curves. If you are familiar with Curves, that is what the circuit is.

The circuit machines is what I use, because the trainer(Manny) that setup my exercise program said it was the best for me, being I have knee replacements, thumb joint replacements and severe arthritis in my joints.

Ok, now to get onto Trish. Her and her hubby own the "Fitness Club." My girlfriend, Cyndee, told her about my situation with not having medical insurance because Cyndee is very concerned for me. She in turn told Cyndee that she used to call around when she lived in New Jersey to help people that were less fortunate than her. Well, let me tell you what she did. She called to find out about where to go to get a FREE mammogram, because it has been 3 years, since my last mammogram was done. Being I had problems in the past, I really shouldn't go without having one every year. I just had graduated, 3 years ago, to having them once a year. For three years straight I had to have them every 6 months, because my body produces cysts and the doctors don't like for me to go without being checked.

Trish found out that the Easton Hospital Clinic was holding a FREE mammogram last Wednesday Night from 5:30-7:00 PM. It was first come first show kind of thing. I didn't have it done there because I am in a Shuffleboard League and our games start at 7:00 PM and I can't be late because then I can't play or we may have to forfeit if I was past our allotted time. So, my other friend, Karen, did a Google search for FREE mammograms in our area and called me with their phone numbers. So, I called the 1-800 number and it went to St. Luke's Hospital. It is a Women's Clinic that provides FREE mammograms and gynecological exam with a PAP test. The Lord has blessed me with 2 very good friends that are concerned about my well-being.

Today, as we went to the gym, Trish, stopped us to ask how I made out and, my friend, Cyndee, was telling her about what happened to me last Friday with my finger. Then, I preceeded to tell her about Chuck waking up with a swollen face on the one side. There she went to the phonebook and called Dr. Milano's office, becasue she sent someone over to his office last week. She said Dr. Milano is also a member of the "Fitness Club." I guess he was in the same situation as I am in with no insurance/dental. Dr. Milano also worked with this man to get the help he needed. I overheard Trish telling the receptionist that she used to do this in New Jersey, but she doesn't know this area too well yet, getting help for the misfortunate.

I want to thank Trish and all the kindness she has showed me, since joining the "Fitness Club." So, by thanking her I am going to put the "Fitness Club" website link on my sidebar.

What a Day I had Today!

My day started out with a bad infection in my finger near the nail. I had it a few days and I was soaking it and putting Neosporin on it and I even used the infamous Black Salve. I really thought the Black Salve would draw out the infection, but it didn't do anything for it.

I had to take my friend Nicki to her neurological appointment at Sacred Heart Hospital, so while we were there she asked her doctor to look at my finger. He then preceeded to call his nurse out to me because she used to work for a Wound Healing Center. The doctor sent us downstairs to a doctor's office and we were told to tell them that he sent us there. We got nowhere. We came back to Easton and we went to Redi-Care. That place is a joke and a half. They wouldn't see me unless I paid $75.00. We walked out of there very fast. Then we went to the clinic by Easton Hospital, but there were NO doctors working today, so she gave me a name and number to call when I got home. Meanwhile, Nicki called my State Senator's Office to see if I could get some help, being I have NO insurance. She called us back with a phone number, but as usual nobody answered, only an anwsering machine. So I left my name and number, maybe they will call me back, who knows. Nicki and I made several different calls to other Urgent Care places and the one on Easton Ave. in Bethlehem is through St. Luke's Hospital and they said the office visit is $200. I almost passed out when she told me that. What is wrong with this picture?

After taking Nicki home I went to my friend Cyndee's house, being she is a nurse, I thought she might be able to help me. She didn't realize how bad my infection was, until she saw it. She told me I had no choice I had to go to ER at Easton Hospital. Well, let me tell you what an exciting time I had. I didn't wait long until I went back to a room. But, then again, I arrived there around 3:30-4:00 and never left there until 8:30.

They took my vitals and they weren't good. My blood pressure in my left arm was 209/121 and then she took it in my right arm and it was 188/108. She said to me, do you have high blood pressure and I said yes. It is my fault, because I get so busy with my day that I forget to take my BP medicine. Well, I don't think I will forget anymore after the doctor and nurse told me what could happen to me. They gave me blood pressure medicine and took it again before I left and it came down 184/105, so I guess I have to face it that I will be on BP medicine the rest of my life.

The doctor came in and spray this liquid to freeze my finger because he had to lance it and squeeze it to help relieve the infection. He said I had no choice that no matter what I did it wouldn't have gotten better. He said it was a bacterial infection in the nail. So, now I have this huge bandage on my ring finger of my left hand (and I'm a lefty). It has to stay on for a few days then I have to soak it and put medicine on it and wrap it up again. I am on pain pill and antibiotic. Got them at Wegman's. The antibiotic was FREE, but the pain medicine was $14.00.

Now I know why I want Medical Reform, for us people that have NO insurance and are on a waiting list to get help.

Happy 4th Birthday, Timmy

Nanny-Sue and Pop-pop want to wish our little munchkin Timmy a very Happy 4th Birthday. Timmy has waited for a long time to have a party and tomorrow it is. Today, Timmy is 4 years old and boy is he growing like a weed. His mommy started homeschooling this year and he likes to do the fun things in class, like looking at books, making crafts, and baking, because he is a little young for school. But at his age it is still fun to be a part of what his older siblings are doing.

Timmy is the one in orange with his baby brother, Jacob, behind him in this picture.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, TIMMY

This is For Us People That Can't Sleep at Night

Click on title it will take you to the article.

Since, I started going through my change of life about, 7 years now, I can't fall asleep at night. I can be so very tired and dozing off in my lounge chair, but as soon as my head hits that pillow it is like I'm wide-eyed and bushy tail. No matter how long I lay there, my mind just won't shut off.

So, here are some helpful hints to help us sleep deprived woman and maybe some men.

I have done the oatmeal at bedtime and never knew it helped me sleep so much better, but I do remember that I wasn't tired when I awoke in the morning.

The Best and Worst Snack Foods From Vending Machines

I think I really should invest in this book "Eat This Not That" I have learned so much just by this article I found on Yahoo. I would have never thought that cheezy goldfish is better than cheezits, if it wasn't for this artical.

If you click on the title it will take you to the article.

Tom and his youngest son, Jacob

I absolutely love this picture that Steph took of Tom and Jacob. They both look so happy cuddling together. They were at Leanna's Brownie Troop's play this afternoon.

You can see Timothy's little head sticking out beside his father's, head. It is really nice that he can join them at family functions like this.

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY, CHUCK

Today, September 29, 1973, Chuck and I were united in marriage, for a journey of a lifetime. It is so hard to believe that it has been 36 years already. Where does the time go. It seems like yesterday in my mind, that I walked down the aisle, to say I DO. It was a beautiful day for the wedding. While we were partying at the reception it rained a bit. My grandmother told me that was a good OMEN, when it rains on your wedding day. I guess she was right. My love for him has never died, it just has gotten stronger over the years. Yes, I will tell you it hasn't been all peaches and cream, but I made a vow to God, Chuck, and to myself, to death do us part. We have gone through riches and poorer, through sickness and health, and next will be, death do us part.

To all, that reads my blog, I want you to know that marriage is one of the hardest "WORK" I think we have to do in our lives, if you want it to succeed. There are times, I thought to myself, is it all worth this effort and wanted to give up or give in, but I believe that when you say your vows to your spouse in the eyes of God, it is forever, no matter what. I'm sure that Chuck has felt this too, but I can only speak for myself.

To another 36 years!

I love you a whole bunch!

A Beautiful Picture of Jerusalem

Jamie's brother arrived in Jerusalem safely and took this beautiful black and white picture of the city. WOW, I can't believe how beautiful it really is. How we all remember the Bible stories and the old biblical times, well they sure aren't that way now.

He is working for our government. He is so very lucky to travel the world.

I have to add that Jamie's brother is an awesome photographer, so I'm looking for more pictures to show you of this beautiful city.

Patches sleeping with Kobe

My little Patches is a very unusual dog as you can see here in this picture of her laying with Kobe. She just loves when I get kids to babysit. She gets so excited when the kids come that I have to get them settled in a chair first, so I can let her out of her crate. When Kylie comes she takes cover under the blanket because Patches jumps on top of her, no matter how high the chair is.

I was trying to sneak up on Patches to get a head shot of how cute she is beside Kobe, but she caught me.

She finally gave up watching me and just layed down with Kobe. How cute they both look.

Look at this huge Blue Heron bird

My friend, Cyndee and her hubby Paul, went to Richmond over the weekend to the races, so she had a friend stop up at her house to feed her pond fish and clean the filter, and this is what he found. I guess nobody would have believed him when he told them about this huge bird sitting there scouring for the fish. Look for yourself. Look how much taller he is than her statue of a Blue Heron bird, which is about 2 feet in height.

See that lighthouse behind him? Well, that lighthouse is over 3 feet tall, so that tells you how tall that bird really is.

He went from the pond and flew to on top of her shed. Look at his mess he left behind as evidence he was there.

Paul went out yesterday to a pond place to purchase a "Scarecrow" that will scare the bird away. It is a motion kind of scarecrow, that has a censor to it and knows when something is there and it sprays water at the bird to scare it away. Here is the link if you want to check it out, if any of you have a pond in your yard.

I found this picture of a Blue Heron with its wings stretched out. Their wing span is 5.5 to 6.5 feet width. I can't even imagine that in my head.

Happy Birthday, Stephanie

Today, I like to wish our daughter-in-law, Steph, a "HAPPY BIRTHDAY." I hope you have a wonderful day and that your kids did something special for you. I don't remember if she is one or two years younger than our son Tom.

Anyways, HAPPY BIRTHDAY !!

We Lost Our Beloved, Snowball-9/14/09

It has been a very sad week for us here. Our Snowball was developing kidney failure and becoming very sick.

Last Sunday, the 6th, I bought him baby food meats to see if I could get him to eat, because he stopped eating kitty food. He ate a little bit and that was the last time he ate anything. He tried drinking some water but it was so hard for him. I was so hoping he would pass in his sleep, but each day he was still alive.

Saturday morning, about 3:30 AM Chuck came to bed and he crawled out from under our bed.
He was crying, so we made a bed on top of our bed and he slept with us.

He was on his way to be put down, when he let out a cry and he was gone. I'm so happy he is not in anymore pain and is in animal heaven with Princess, Bruno, Snickers, Ductchess, Taffy, Patches (our cat), Spunky. Taffy, Patches & Spunky were all related to each other; Taffy was the nanny cat, Patches was mommy cat to Spunky. We don't have pictures of them, but Taffy & Patches were calico and Spunky was an orange tiger kitty.

Now, we are down to 3 cats & 3 dogs. Our family is getting smaller.

Dr. Phil's Blog

I added a link on my sidebar to Dr. Phil's Blog. Whoever likes Dr. Phil can catch up on their reading of his blog. I am a BIG fan of Dr. Phil. I also, like the show that he had a hand in creating and that is the Doctors.

It comes on CBS at 3:00 PM, Monday-Friday. Have any of you watched it? I know Jamie records it. It is very insightful.

Foods Surprisingly High In Added Sugar

Kids love the granola bars and to find out how much sugar they contain is something else. Maybe that is why they like them so much because they are sweet tasting. Yep, rope those youngsters in very young to the taste of sugar.

Look how many people have addictions to soda. Soda contains 8 teaspoons of added sugar, which is about 33 grams and 130 calories per can. I just read my Wild Cherry Pepsi and this is what is in it, calories-160, total fat-0, sodium 30mg, total carbs-42g, sugars-42g, protein-0g, total carbs is 14% and sodium is 1%.

Wow, I just read my two cans of diet soda that I have here, Diet Mug & Diet Crush Orange. Diet Mug contains 65mg of sodium=3% and no sugars, fat, protein, or calories. Diet Crush Orange contains 70mg=3% of sodium, 6g=2% of total carbs, 5g of sugar and calories is 25.
Wow, amazing and they call it diet!
Well, I just learn a very important thing by reading these labels, today. Bottle water for me.

I really don't drink much diet soda, only when I go out to hear Chuck play in the band or when I play with my Shuffle Board League. From now on though, I will ask for bottle water and if they don't have it then I will ask for tap water with ice.

I had to add this after I first posted this post......I went to Giant and checked out Mountain Dew soda regular and diet. Here is what I found.....Reg. Mountain Dew has 160 calories, 65mg sodium-3%, 47g carbs-15%, and 47g sugar. Diet Mountain Dew has 50mg sodium-2%. Too much salt and sugar in this soda.

The reason why I checked Mountain Dew is because I was always told that soda is the worse soda on the market, if you want to be healthy.

The New Happy Addition to Cyndee & Paul's Family

Paul came home Wednesday night and surprised Cyndee with a little girl. At first, Cyndee was a little upset because she knew this was going to change there lives for a bit, but it will work out I told her. She was fine on Wednesday, but Thursday came and she started acting sick. She was coughing and choking. I went with her to the vet and Cyndee was told she has kennel cough. So, it has been a fun weekend so far. She is getting a little better, after her second trip to the vet yesterday.

They didn't have a name for her yet by Saturday. I told her she has to have a name before you go to Paul's brother's house for a picnic. So, her and I sat by her laptop and looked at all the girl names from A-Z. The ones she liked she saved and showed Paul. None really popped out at Paul, until Cyndee said she was leaning on Billie, after her dad. You see, her dad calls her his baby girl every time she calls him. So, when she saw that name it just reminded her of her dad. Paul really liked it too, so that is her new name Billie girl. What a little cutie she is. She is so smart at 10 weeks old. She pee pees and poopies outside not in her crate already. That is amazing that she knows that at her little age.

Good Luck to Cyndee & Paul.

I will have to get pictures of their other two dogs, Harley & Evo. They are Teacup Yorkies. Harley Barley, as I call him is such a sweet little boy and Evo is so shy. Harley wants to be held and played with all the while I'm there, where Evo is lying in his bed on Cyndee & Pauls's bed. He doesn't come out too much when I'm there, so I go to him to pet him.

Two Happy Siblings

Joss looks so content on Michele's lap. Michele is a co-worker of Jamie and her best friend. She is a very beautiful lady inside and out, as you can see in this picture. And of course, we can't forget that little cutie sitting on her lap looking at all the fun at Jonathan's 5th Birthday Party.

Jonathan and his Uncle Cory. You can tell that Jonathan was a very happy camper to have his Uncle Cory surprise him after his party. His Uncle Cory looks just like Jamie's dad in this picture. He is a younger version of him.

The BIG #5 B-Day For Jonathan

The Birthday Boy

Jacob trying to play basketball

The birthday gang

John and Jamie had an early birthday celebration for Jonathan yesterday at Bounce U. All the kids looked so happy to be able to bounce around, slide on slides, and hit each other with extra large boxing gloves and not worry about getting hurt. It is so awesome on different things there are today to make a child very happy and safe.

September 11th is his original birthday, but they celebrated it early, because his favorite Uncle is moving to Israel around his birthday, so he wouldn't have been able to attend his celebration. His Uncle Cory made a surprise visit for Jonathan and I really wish I could have been there to see Jonathan's face to see his Uncle Cory walk through the door. He loves his Uncle Cory. Who can't blame him, to have an Uncle who was like Jonathan when he was his age. I was told by Jamie that her brother was just like Jonathan. He was very happy and content to stay in the house and entertain himself with his legos or anything else he enjoyed playing with. You give Jonathan a lego, it doesn't have to be for his age, it can be for an older child, Jonathan can put it together and play for hours on end. He is one very smart child when it comes to building, or constructing it.

Here are just a few of his birthday pics for you all to enjoy. I really wish I could have made it. But that is a story in itself.

Tom & Steph's Gang

Steph is making it official. She is going to homeschool Leanna this year. She has been contemplating this for awhile now.

My sister-in-law, Jeri, which is Chuck's sister, homeschooled her kids when they were doing mission work and was traveling a lot. Her kids did quite well with being homeschooled. Their youngest, Becky, was homeschooled for a short time, until Jeri got a job with a Christian School, then Becky went there to school.

Good Luck to you Steph for making this decision.

Another Grandchild with Allergies

John & Jamie's little boy developed peanut allergies at an early age of one. Their life had changed drasticly to protect that precious little boy.

Now, Tom & Steph have a child that has tested positive to allergies to peanuts, soy, cantalope, grass, ragweed, trees & dust mites. They will have their hands full trying to keep him allergy safe in their home with 3 other children running around and can eat the foods he can't. That is the hard part I believe.

Trying to keep your house dust free is extremely hard. I was tested many years ago to dust mites, but I don't follow the rules for that. I would have to cover my mattress, boxspring & pillow with a vinyl cover. They are too hot to lay on. I get hot very easily. I was suppose to not have carpeting in the whole house or especially the bedroom, because dust mites love to live there, same with curtains and your furniture.

It is going to be so hard for my little Jacob to be a kid with allergies to the outdoors.

Our Grandchildren

Leanna is the oldest of Tom and Steph, she is 8 years old. She is into paper dolls, reading, brownies, and having fun with her brothers. Also, she is into bugs, lizzards, rabbits, and anything that just fascinates her curiosity. She loves talking on the phone to her Nanny-Sue. She is always wanting me to come visit her.

Justin is next in age, he is 5 years old. He is into bugs, catepillars, his lizzard and rabbit. He is so curious about so many things at this age. His newest thing is, "Can daddy hear me if I really really yell loud enough where he is working?" Justin loves to work beside his daddy doing carpentry. He is always playing and trying to make something out of any type of wood.

Timothy is so cute, he is 3 1/2 years old and he copies everything his older sister and brother do. He loves to repeat everything they say. He is into dressing himself, and you never know what he will put on, whether it matches or whether it is the layered look. He is such a happy little boy. He loves to giggle. Timothy loves to help mommy around the house, whether it is vacuuming or baking.

Jacob is the youngest of the four kids, he is 2 years old. He is a very happy little boy. He loves getting into trouble like his other siblings did when they were his age. He is just curious about finding new things to get into. He loves making messes for mommy to clean up. In this picture he is tasting his mommy's lemon cookies she made. He loves to eat, especially daddy's goodies that his father tries to hide from the kids, ie, snickers. Jacob can sniff them out pretty well.

All in all they are very happy, loving, and curious children. They are so much fun to be around.

Our other two grandchildren are in that post below.

Josslyn and Jonathan, sister & brother

Josslyn is getting so big and I am missing out on seeing her grow. She was 4 months old, when I was sitting for her, when daddy got a new job. Now she is 6 months and enjoying the world around her.

I thought this was an Oreo Cookie she was holding, but the joke is on me. It is the lens cap of mommy and daddy's camera. Ha! Ha! Ha!

Jonathan is getting more mature, since I last saw him. He is turning 5 years old on Sept. 11th. After the world stopped on Sept. 11th 2001, we had a very happy day to celebrate in 2004, was the birth of our grandson, Jonathan. God always brings a happy ending to tradegies and what a happy ending this is.
